Michael Sucsy most recently won acclaim for directing, writing, and producing Grey Gardens for HBO.  Sucsy was raised in Connecticut and New York and is a graduate of Deerfield Academy and of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service where he earned a degree in International Relations, Law & Organization.

Sucsy segued from studying international relations to film production via the advertising industry, where he worked for the award-winning agency Cliff Freeman & Partners on the first-ever Staples TV ads.  Sucsy then pursued work as a production assistant, an art department coordinator, a production secretary, and an assistant director on feature films, commercials, and music videos in Washington DC, New York City, and Los Angeles.  He later went on to earn a Masters of Fine Arts in film from Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles.  Sucsy then began directing commercials and was soon dubbed by Shoot! Magazine ”as one of the industry’s crop of new directors to watch.”  He was subsequently nominated for the Young Director of the Year Award given in conjunction with the 2002 Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival.

Sucsy was inspired to write and direct a narrative feature film about the famous true story of Jackie O’s eccentric relatives “Big Edie” and “Little Edie” Bouvier Beale called Grey Gardens after viewing the well-known documentary of the same name.  The day after he first watched the documentary, Sucsy embarked on what was to become a six-year process to get Grey Gardens made.  Sucsy began by crafting an original script using Little Edie’s personal correspondence, private journals, and poetry as well as interviews with family members and friends to trace the Beales’ tragic descendant from riches to rags over some forty years.  Sucsy, attached as the director, then set Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange to star as the reclusive mother-daughter duo and brought the project to HBO.

Lange won an Emmy for her role and Barrymore won both the SAG Award and the Golden Globe for hers.  The film received multiple awards including 6 Emmys, the Golden Globe, and both the Broadcast Film Critics and the Television Critics Association Awards.  Sucsy was additionally nominated for the Directors Guild Award as well as the Writers Guild Award.

Sucsy’s next film Rosaline, for Fox 2000, is a comedic retelling of the classic Romeo and Juliet story set in 16th century Verona told from the point of view of Romeo’s jilted ex-girlfriend.

At the age of 4, Mitchell go her first break appearing in an Oscar Meyer commercial and has been working steadily in film and television ever since. With over 25 years acting experience Mitchell has amassed an impressive resume, although she’s probably best known for her starring role as the emotional yet lovable Lucy Camden on the hit series “7th Heaven”. With 11 seasons, “7th Heaven” remains the longest running family drama in history, surpassing even The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie. She currently could be found as Katelyn O’Malley on ABC Family’s hit show “The Secret Life of the American Teenager”.

On the small screen, Mitchell has starred in various TV movies, including the Lifetime Original Film “Post Mortem”, “Right on Track,” based on Erica Enders, the first female Drag Racer, “White Dwarf”, “Mother of the Bride”, and the miniseries “Sinatra”. Prior to “7th Heaven”, Mitchell had a recurring role on the comedy series “Phenom” starring Judith Light and guest starred on a number of series including “Melrose Place”, “Quantum Leap”, and “Baywatch”.

Mitchell made her feature film debut in “The Crow: City of Angels,” which she followed up with the horror/thriller “Saw II” and can soon be seen in “Snowmen,” which will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. She also starred in the dark short film “Mean People Suck” opposite Dominique Swain and James Franco. In 2010 she also Executive Produced and starred in “Pennhurst” directed by “The Walking Dead” Michael Rooker, which also starred Haylie Duff. Beverley also just wrapped acting in “Mentryville,” opposite Danny Glover and Vinnie Jones

In addition to acting, in 2007 Mitchell began a new journey as she embarked on a career in country music. During breaks in production of “7th Heaven”, Mitchell traveled to Nashville where she co-wrote and recorded songs for her debut album, two of which were featured on “7th Heaven”.

Mitchell has parlayed her love and knowledge of the business and is moving into producing and writing.

We might have had less cross-dressing acrobats and crotch shots, but this Sunday’s podcast was a real touchdown! (I’m told that’s a good thing.)

Bob instantly trumped my squid dissection story with news that he’ll be hosting GVBRadio‘s red carpet show for the Academy Awards, where I’m certain Bob will ask George Clooney if he knows a squid’s spine is called a pen.

We kept the applause button going for the smart, funny, and fantastic Jodie Sweetin, who is, according to teenage Bob, best known for being in the same room as Jason Bateman…

There were a lot of laughs mixed with lots of candor. One minute we’d be trying to decide whether or not your head pops out of your ass when you turn 30, and the next Jodie would be chronicling her years of addiction fueled by trying to be anything other than “the girl from Full House.” We discussed working with Team True Beauty, learning the difference between peace and boredom, the real hazards of being a child actor, Can’t Get Arrested the webseries with Dave Coulier, and what watching a movie by herself truly means to a mom.

After a very special Getting to Know You: Stephanie Tanner edition, Jodie and I gave French and Saunders a lesson in comedy with our reading of “I am a Tip-Top Starlet.”

(But really, check out the French and Saunders version. It’s absolutely fabulous…)

Madonna’s book “Slut” wasn’t on our list of favorite things, but these things were: Parks and Recreation‘s Ron Swanson and his love of scavenger hunts, Breaking Bad (seriously, have you watched it yet?), and Sizzle Says getting engaged!

Jodie plugged the 24 Hour Hollywood Rush (February 19th) and gave us our way to make the world a better place: lend a hand to a woman with children (she needs it!). And since it was Madonna Bowl Sunday, we closed the show with her new song Give Me All Your Luvin’!

Jodie Sweetin is best known for her role as Stephanie Tanner on ABC’s long-running, hugely popular sitcom Full House, which still airs in syndication. She’s also done guest appearances on other shows such as Yes, Dear and Party of Five. After growing up in the spotlight, she went through some struggles with addiction, which are the basis for her 2009 memoir, UnSweetined. She and Full House co-star, Dave Coulier just recently finished a short webseries in 2011 called, Can’t Get Arrested. Jodie now lives in Los Angeles with her fiancé, Morty Coyle and two daughters, Zoie and Beatrix.

I took over the boards as Bob live tweeted about how proud he was of my button pushing skillz (yep, that skillz with a “z”). We chatted about what a hot Snow White I make, Siri destroying Bob’s relationship (did anyone else notice Bob’s impression of his BF sounded a lot like Jan Brady?), snapping secret pictures of Cyndi Lauper, friend of the show Jessie McNamara’s new webseries A Roll in the Hay, Bob’s “My Top 10″ podcast, and our nomination in the Shorty awards!

A botched musical intro later (it was my first day!), we went into our Favorite Things. Bob raved about OVO by Cirque du Soleil, and I clowned out over the opening of my new show Everybody Nose Nothing Means Anything and I’m Very Worried. (Special shout out to @tartu85 who tweeted this video, proving just how awesome clowning can be!)

We blew out the audio for the first of many times introducing the cast of Pretty the webseries to the studio–more specifically Sam Pancake, Dee Freeman, Michael Taylor Gray, and Brendan Bradley! We were soon discussing Sam’s Blaire Warner impression, the success of Bob and Dee’s friend Octavia Spencer, the awesome cameos in Pretty, fantasy bromancing, Squatters and Brendan’s 6 pack abs, Michael’s 6 packs 9 lives calendar, and Arrested Development movie updates.

We barely heard the phone ringing through the giggling. On the line was creator of Pretty Steve Silverman, who was calling all the way from his sick bed. We didn’t want to keep him too long, but we did learn where the concept of Pretty came from, where Stacy McQueen was hiding out (Hardee’s), and how tragic the death of Tania Jones was… if you were a crazy General Hospital superfan.

After blowing out the sound AGAIN while discussing our sex lives as movie titles, we got some random acts of kindness for the week: from Bauble Barb we learned to help that elderly person looking for assistance at the supermarket, and from Michael we learned to just make eye contact with a stranger and smile.

Sam plugged his show Strong Choices (February 3rd and 4th) and Brendan took off his shirt…

…I mean plugged his Squatcast, before we said goodbye with “The Goonies ‘R’ Good Enough” (Why? Why not!).

After not seeing each other for a whole week, Bob and I had a heartwarming reunion. Good thing a camera crew caught it all on tape…

Once Bob stopped picking lice out of my hair, we welcomed viral video virtuoso Chris Thompson! We dished about the Grindr hack, Bob’s newest catch phrase “Ding me for my dong,” the fallout over a little girl saying “fudge” in Modern Family, and whether getting a Whopper delivered to you at 11:30pm is really worth having to open the door to this:

That face may not have been our favorite thing, but these were: a Facetime chat with Chris’ mom that went awry, Todd Glass on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast, and private karaoke rooms in Koreatown (I should have checked if they had this song…)

We got Chris talking about how to take advantage of social media, connecting with his fan base, his accidental beginnings thanks to playing DDR with dad, dealing with comment bullies, and the power of consistency.

Continuing with our YouTube yammering, Australia called with director Mick Tippett, creator of “Who’s Your Favourite?”. Not only did we discover we might have scooped Ellen DeGeneres, but we also learned watching cute baby videos is in international pastime. Seriously, look at this baby!

We stopped goo-gooing long enough to welcome Judy Garland impersonator Peter Mac to the studio! He discussed his upcoming show at the French Market, his love of Judy, respecting her legacy, and pairing up with Bea Arthur!

Chris helped us close out with the show with a way to make the world a better place (SMILE!), and Bob played a 2011 mashup by Sam Tsui and Kurt Hugo.
