Bob and I got you a Christmas / Kwanzaa / Hanukkah / Festivus present: a final podcast for 2011! Go ahead, you can open it early. We won’t tell Santa / Maulana Karenga / Your Grandma / George Costanza.
And continue reading for all the extra goodies you can’t get through speakers alone…
Bob couldn’t start the show without an apology for last week’s karaoke rendition of Reba McEntire’s “Fancy”. Unfortunately, he apologized by belting Better Midler’s “Wind Beneath My Wings”, which I fear is the beginning of a vicious cycle. (Only half of the previous paragraph is true. Fingers crossed it’s the first half.)
On with the show! We went right into our Favorite Things of the Week, which included the Thrilling Adventure Hour and attending an awesome dance show starring Travis Wall of So You Think You Can Dance.
Ju won’t believe who was in the studio! Or maybe ju would, I don’t know jur life…
We couldn’t seem to stop talking like those Cha-Cha heel wearing crime stoppers Frieda Laye and Kay Sedia, AKA Chico’s Angels!
In between Bob and my giggles, the ladies talked about their successful stage show, Tupperware fiestas, returning the favor to war vets (wink wink), mystery solving, and the amazingly talented Charo who crashed one of their performances:
After learning a little about Cantinflas, we busted out our Favorite Things of the Year, which didn’t include dogs biting or bees stinging, but did include Tina Fey’s Bossypants, Bridesmaids (see Kay Sedia in Melissa McCarthy’s Entertainment Weekly photo shoot here), balloon flower bracelets, Revenge and TV in general, joining GVB Radio, the BLT at Sweetsalt, Catie Laffoon Photography, and finally meeting Lynda Carter.
Bob vented about his experience with Ellen Degeneres’ 12 Days of Christmas giveaway (he probably would have settled for ten lords a-leaping) and the pitch of his voice deleting voice messages. To leave us on a happy note, Frieda and Kay gave a couple ways to make the world a better place: either make someone laugh or shimmy in their face.
Playing us out was a new song by Coldplay and Rihanna called “The Princess of China“.
Thanks for reading/listening! Happy holidays and come back next year when Bob will sing Dolly Parton’s Jolene! (Or not.)
