February 12, 2012 – Beverley Mitchell is best known for her role as Lucy on the long running hit show 7th Heaven, but today she is known for her role on The Secret Life of an American Teenager and for using the social media platform Twitter to spread the message of positivity! At the age of 4, Mitchell go her first break appearing in an Oscar Meyer commercial and has been working steadily in film and television ever since. With over 25 years acting experience Mitchell has amassed an impressive resume, although she’s probably best known for her starring role as the emotional yet lovable Lucy Camden on the hit series “7th Heaven”. With 11 seasons, “7th Heaven” remains the longest running family drama in history, surpassing even The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie. She currently could be found as Katelyn O’Malley on ABC Family’s hit show “The Secret Life of the American Teenager”.
On the small screen, Mitchell has starred in various TV movies, including the Lifetime Original Film “Post Mortem”, “Right on Track,” based on Erica Enders, the first female Drag Racer, “White Dwarf”, “Mother of the Bride”, and the miniseries “Sinatra”. Prior to “7th Heaven”, Mitchell had a recurring role on the comedy series “Phenom” starring Judith Light and guest starred on a number of series including “Melrose Place”, “Quantum Leap”, and “Baywatch”.
Mitchell made her feature film debut in “The Crow: City of Angels,” which she followed up with the horror/thriller “Saw II” and can soon be seen in “Snowmen,” which will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. She also starred in the dark short film “Mean People Suck” opposite Dominique Swain and James Franco. In 2010 she also Executive Produced and starred in “Pennhurst” directed by “The Walking Dead” Michael Rooker, which also starred Haylie Duff. Beverley also just wrapped acting in “Mentryville,” opposite Danny Glover and Vinnie Jones
In addition to acting, in 2007 Mitchell began a new journey as she embarked on a career in country music. During breaks in production of “7th Heaven”, Mitchell traveled to Nashville where she co-wrote and recorded songs for her debut album, two of which were featured on “7th Heaven”.
Mitchell has parlayed her love and knowledge of the business and is moving into producing and writing.
